Converse..?

Hmm...I've been toying with this idea for a while now so I thought I'd put it to you guys, I've loved reading your comments on my travel and ear piercing posts so it'd be lovely to hear your opinions on this :)
I think Converse look awesome on other people, I'm so inspired by the photo above, her entire outfit is a dream - the Converse add an effortlessly cool feel to outfits and they'd be great in the summer time with shorts and plain tees when I go to America. The only trouble is, I'm 5'2" and always wear heels - they make me a more 'normal' height and without them I feel like a bit of a midget and I feel like my legs look short. Plus, at college when you suddenly shrink three or four inches, people reeeaaally notice and my day is filled with comments along the lines of "Awwww! You're so small!!!" and "Oh my god, I never realised you were such a midget!"...it doesn't help that my boyfriend is 6'2" either...haha!

What do you think of Converse? Do you think I could pull it off?
Be honest!

Love Ellen xx

  2. YES, definitely! I am also around 5'2" [just under I think] and love my converse! They're really comfortable, and come in loads of great colours. I expect you're just worried because you'd be out of your 'comfort zone' and wearing something different to your usual..do it! xx

  3. I wear converse every day (white chucks) and they are so god damn comfortable they are the perfect college shoe. Mine are 6 months old and after I wore them in (it took a week or so) they literally moulded to my foot and are so comfy to kick around in. Plus they don't wear down as they are proper sturdy. I would happily pay another £37 for another pair, maybe some grey ones (or maybe some limited edition Gorillaz ones?)

  4. I love Converse, I have two pairs and I love how throwing them on with a dress or skirt can change the whole mood of the outfit. I say get a pair, you will want to live in them when you do! I'm only 5'2" too and like I'm always told, the best things come in small packages :) xx

  5. I wear Converse sometimes and I'm 4'11, they're really comfy but as I have short legs I do worry sometimes. I can relate concerning the 'omg you're soooo small!' statements, people usually make a point of standing right next to me, or leaning on me! Good thing I can see the funny side :'D I think you can definitely pull them off though :)

  6. I'm the same, love them on other people but have just never bought them myself!

I think anyone could pull them off to be honest, and from your style (from which I've gathered from your blog) I think you definitely could!
    I think they'd definitely suit you :)

They look like a really good investment, I'd go for it.

As for thinking you're short- embrace it. Everybody loves you for who you are and not your height :)

  7. Of course you could, girls can be short, it's one of the advantages of being one.

  11. I literally live in my Converse and I'm only 5'4"/5'5" ish. They're so comfy and versatile - I'm sure you'd get plenty of wear out of them even if you do stay loyal to heels as well :)
Actually, I've just realised for about 7 years straight now I've not been without at least one pair of Converse in my life....

  16. My boyfriend is 6'5 so I feel your pain ;-). I wish I could look this good in converse, the girl in the photo looks beaut! I'd definitely get a white or grey pair, I always end up stealing my sisters ;-).
Also, thanks for your comment on my blog, can't believe your top has stretched out of shape! You'd have thought that Topshop would stock some high quality stuff seeing as they are such a coveted brand! Still think I might buy it though, it's too pretty ;-) xx

  19. Her outfit iis super cute. I love that color of converse as well!! I used to wear converse all the time till the pair was ruined. I have been wanting to get another pair since. This color is looking like a winner!
oh, and i'm 5'2 and my boyfriend is 6'. Perfect height for him when i'm in heels. Being in heels everytime i'm with him though is very unrealistic. Lol

  20. anyone can pull of converse. that's the best thing about them. they are pretty much a staple of mine. you just have to wear them and get used to being your normal height. ;] you'll be fine. people come in all shapes and sizes and we gotta celebrate that right? right. and if ppl give you shit for something as stupid as height, just tell 'em to go fuck themselves. w/ a smile of course. :]
