Insta Details

Images from my instagram - username: ellenatlanta

Just a quick post today as I'm off to Leeds! I've been really liking taking these 'details' shots for my instagram lately so thought I'd share a few with you all. As you can probably tell, I'm still totally obsessed with my silver Asos boots, I never want to take them off!

Fluff

Jacket - Topshop
Top - Goodwill
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - DIY
Earrings - Lulutrixabelle
Nail decals - Poundland

Eeeek I'm so happy with these photos and my experimental editing. I'm really going to try and put more effort into making my blog photos look better, I really want my content to look more like editorials and like they could be placed in a magazine, so that's the kind of thing I was going for here! Let me know what you think in the comments!

Fluff on fluff on fluff, I feel so sassy in this outfit! I DIY'ed these shoes and I always get so many compliments when I wear them, I'm always tempted to make more and sell them, a white pair with lilac fluff would be perfect for summer!

I'm planning on blogging every day in February so let me know if you guys want to see anything in particular! I have a pretty packed timetable this term so it'll definitely be a challenge!

Summer where you at?

Bag - La Moda
Shoes & Laces - eBay (links here and here)
Shorts, Jewells & Phonecase - Shop Jeen

Ahhh my first ever uni exam is over and done with! I only had one exam this January and I think it went well...fingers crossed anyway! It was the first time I'd had an exam on the computer and it was so much nicer being able to edit and organise your ideas as you went along, I only wish all my written exams during college had been like that!

Anyways, the January blues have had me dreaming of summer recently and there's a few outfits in my head I can't wait to put together. I've been building a wishlist ready for the months when piling on the pastels, sheer fabrics and hot pants is more weather appropriate. I've decided that this year I'm getting a pair of Buffalo platforms, I've wanted a pair for ages but always chickened out! I really like the limited edition pairs by Maria Ke Fisherman and How Two Live but they're slightly too expensive for my student budget, so instead I want to get the plain white and baby blue pair and add the glitter pink laces…so Baby Spice!

What's on your summer wishlist?

Oversized monochrome

Jumper - Zara sale
Shorts - Urban Outfitters
Tights - Primark
Boots - Zara
Scarf - Primark
Bag - Zara
Rings (l-r) - eBay, Spitalfields, Camden, Pandora, Vintage
Nails - Bleu Asphalte by Bourgois

So I've actually owned this jumper twice. The first time I saw it was in the summer and I obsessed over it for weeks. When I finally bought it, I decided it was way too oversized for me, that I had nothing to wear it with and so I took it back…
But since then, there's been a white jumper-sized hole in my wardrobe, I've not been able to find anything like it since. All white jumpers at the moment are either cropped, or say they are white and actually turn out to be a weird shade of cream. Then alas, on a trip to Westfield last week with my flatmate I found this jumper again, down from £45 to £20 in the sale. I tried it on over the playsuit I was wearing, with my over-the-knee boots and fell in love…I finally had the outfit that this jumper was meant to go with! So I snapped it up and we all lived happily ever after…(and £25 better off!)

20 sassy phone cases you need right now

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know I've been on the hunt for a sassy new phone case and just wasn't finding anything I wanted. There wasn't anything I liked on the highstreet and I'd exhausted every possible variation of 'cute iPhone cases' on eBay, I was on the verge of giving up, until I discovered a sassy Clueless case from RedBubble. I spent this morning searching the website and now I'm spoilt for choice! I honestly can't decide on a favourite, so help me out in the comments below!

Jumper of Dreams

Jeans - Topshop
Boots - ASOS
Earrings - Lulutrixabelle

Ahh I'm so in love with this jumper! You can't see as well in the photos but it's a multicoloured lilac and blue wool with the sleeves more pastel blue and the body more lilac. It is the pastel jumper of dreams, paired with my super sassy pastel pompom earrings! I definitely need to buy a black pair as well!

These photos were just taken whilst on a walk with my boyfriend, we were really struggling to find a good photo location but this one turned out okay-ish I suppose…hahaha

I hope you've all had a fab day!

God's Own Junkyard - Lights of Soho

Follow me on instagram - ellenatlanta

Yesterday was my flatmate Lauren's birthday so we headed on over to God's Own Junkyard to see the Lights of Soho exhibition before it closes. I've been seeing so many cool photos of this place that I just had to check it out for myself!
It's essentially two floors of kitsch neon lights and artwork that can be purchased if you have a few thousands of pounds to spare…I didn't think I was too keen on this form of home decoration until I saw  photos of this shop fitting in Germany, in which a white neon sign is combined with pastels and rose gold. I really love the more simply pieces, such as the purple heart, or the super cute 'Kiss' light in the Loveheart sweet. They may cost a bomb but they really do serve as a statement piece!

If you're in London before the 18th January you should definitely check this place out, it's a short walk from Picadilly Circus and there's loads of other cool places to explore around there too!

Fluff, glitter & metallics? Check!

Coat - Topshop
Top - Goodwill
Necklace - Tesco
Trousers - Forever 21
Belt - Goodwill
Shoes - ASOS
Rings (l-r) - Spitalfields Market, Euphoria Creations, Lumafina, Pandora, Camden Market

I'm back in London now so these are the last set of photos taken outside my garden shed at home. As much as I love seeing everyone at home, I do love being back in the big city. I've got so many things I still want to do whilst I live in Central, I might start making posts on things to do in London, with guides to more unique places to visit other than Oxford Street, I've found some pretty cool places so far that I'd love to share! I think this week I might hit up Brick Lane for a spot of vintage shopping, I feel like I want to be inspired and try something new, ironically vintage shopping seems like the best way to do that!

Pink for Leelah

Topshop Nails - Marshmallow

I know this post is a bit late, but I thought I'd share it with you all anyway. On January 6th, I painted my nails pink in memory of Leelah Alcorn and in support of LGBT campaigns. This is a sassy new iridescent shade from Topshop called Marshmallow and I thought it suited the occasion perfectly.

Everyone deserves love, acceptance and happiness in this world.

All windswept and interesting...

Duster coat - ASOS
Top - Brandy Melville
Boots - Zara
Necklace - Forever 21

I wrote variations of that title so many times that 'windswept' does not seem like a real word anymore. I love it though when the wind adds a bit of drama to an outfit post…not too much though it was bloody freezing.
I wore this outfit on a shopping trip last week with my mum and quite liked the over-sized tee with over-the-knee boots thang; I am wearing shorts under here though I promise! Over-the-knee boots are risqué enough without the added worry of flashing a passer-by…

I know I wear this Brandy Melville top a lot, (see here and here for reference) but it's just such a good staple and I love that I can wear it tucked in or oversized like this. Plus, their tees are sooo soft and cosy, the quality really is worth the extra pennies!

New Year's Resolutions 2015

2015

I know I'm a tad late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR CHICAS!

I don't think I'm the only one, but for some reason 2015 just feels like it's gonna be such a sassy year!
I love the feeling in the air at the start of each new year and I actually enjoy setting myself goals and evaluating how I can improve on things for the year ahead. I've made a few resolutions (and a super cool graphic I am super duper proud of) and the second one in particular is something I think all of us girlies should try to work on this year; we need to lift each other up instead of getting jealous, competing and trying to push each other down! There's no point promoting feminism if we aren't willing to support our fellow sisters #girlpower
I plan on really throwing myself into blogging now that I feel I've gotten into a rhythm of regular outfit posting. I'm going to challenge myself to blog every day in February, I just really want to push myself and hopefully it'll be a success!

The last resolution is a bit mysterious, but I have a couple of ideas for projects that I'm really keen to start once I get back to London, so watch this space!

What're your resolutions?

That Boyish Charm

Top - Forever 21
Trousers - Forever 21
Crystal Necklace - The Serpent's Club
Silver Necklace - Forever 21
Belt - Goodwill
Bag - Zara
Shoes - ℅ Shoetique

I ordered two pairs of trousers from Forever 21 last week and I've had so much fun styling them up. I got this pair, the perfect tartan/check print for me with it's cool toned grey, purple and blue pattern, as well as a black pinstripe pair in the same shape. I absolutely love this boyish look at the moment, pairing more masculine trousers with trainers and a simple top, both pairs I bought go so well with my white adidas trainers or these patent babies. I styled this tartan pair in two ways, the next is a bit more in keeping with my usual style, with pastels, metallics, sparkles and fluff, so watch this space for that one!

What do you think of this look?

My Christmas Boots!

Eeeek look at my new beauties! Yep you're seeing right: a pointed toe, black leather, pony skin, exposed zips and patent snakeskin - I never knew a boot could carry so many elements without it being too much, but these babies are perfectly on-trend; a classic ankle boot turned statement shoe.

These were my main Christmas present from my mum and I love the combination of the different all-black textures. They'll look really cool with some turned up jeans or some masculine trousers, but also cute with bare legs in the summer.

I'm excited to start styling these up so no doubt you'll be seeing them soon!
