Favourite S/S trends #1 - Holographic

The holographic trend has to be one of my favourites for S/S 2013 - first seen on the catwalks of Hugo Boss, Jonathan Saunders, Blumarine and Stella McCartney, a whole host of metallicy, rainbowy goodness has already started to trickle down to the highstreet, below are my favourite affordable picks...

Flatforms - Schuh
Skirt - MissGuided
Bag - Nasty Gal

A couple of these items have featured on my blog before - I love those flatforms, especially the silver for summer, but I wear heels 95% of the time and in chunky flats I have a feeling I'll look slightly clownish! Many people know about the holographic PLNDR bags but as far as I know they've now all sold out, so instead I found this Nasty Gal alternative (also available in purple). I can't wait to maybe order it next time I go to my Dad's in America, it's so pretty and would go with absolutely anything, the holographic trend is one that's easier to work through accessories and this bag is perfect for that!

Leggings - Urban Outfitters
Nail polish - GOSH
T-shirt - Jade Clark

At the top of my wishlist right now has to be the GOSH holographic nail polish and this tee by Jade Clark - I love all of her designs but they're rather pricey and this one just happens to be on sale! I'm just worried about the fact that it's meant for men and the smallest size they do is a medium..on the other hand I guess drowning in a pink t-shirt of shiney rainbow loveliness isn't the worst way to go.

What do you think of the holographic trend?

Primark Disco Pant Dupes!

I've wanted a pair of disco pants for a while now, however after trying on the American Apparel originals I decided I must be the only person on the planet they didn't suit, I found the sizes really odd and every pair I tried on seemed too tight and just not flattering, the next size up was then too big - plus for 70 something pounds I pretty much expected the trousery-legging combination of my dreams! The other week I thought I'd give disco pants another chance and tried on the Topshop dupes, once again I was beyond disappointed; they weren't flattering at all and I've read a lot of reviews saying that the stitching on the pockets comes away after a few washes...I'd almost given up and came to the conclusion that the shiny, Sandy from Grease-esque trousers and I just weren't meant to be.

That was, my friends, until yesterday when I went to Birmingham for a Valentine's day shopping trip with my boyfriend, and during my usual wander around Primark discovered these dupes and decided I may as well try them on. All in all, these are the best disco pant dupes I've tried/seen and for me, are way more flattering than the AA originals! The material is thick, they aren't at all see-through, the button is silver not gold or plastic (a bonus for me!), due to the thickness of the fabric you don't have to worry about any unflattering camel-toe type disasters and they're fitted but not at all uncomfortable or overly tight! Oo and I almost forgot to say, for only £16 you can't really go wrong! Yep £16 - that would probably buy you the button, zip and one of the pockets of the American Apparel ones...

Hopefully you'll see these soon in an outfit post! Here's a quick instagram photo of everything I got yesterday...

Garrhh I'm so in love with that skirt!

This is my kingdom come

T-shirt - eBay
Jeans - Topshop Joni
Boots - DIY
Satchel - H&M
Sunglasses - eBay

Garhh I'm so excited for Spring! I'm tempted to do a post about my favourite trends for the upcoming season because it just seems like S/S '13 was made for me. This outfit isn't exactly weather appropriate right now but I hate the whole trans-seasonal thing, I'd rather just cover myself in pastels already! My embellished sunglasses arrived the other week and okay, I'll admit that I look a bit like a character from 'A Bug's Life' in them but whether I'll brave them outside or not, they look so pretty on my dressing table.
This top is one of my new favourite things, it was also featured on my eBay basket post and I didn't realise that it would be this colour! I thought the t-shirt was entirely white but it turns out it's lilac and fades into white in the centre where the cat face is, I just love the lilac with the pink, white and blue - it's so cute!
