Into the jungle

Playsuit - Topshop
Necklace - Tesco
Bag (now in the sale!) - Zara
Midi ring - ShopDixi
Gold rings - Primark
Swirled silver ring - My mum's old ring
Wavy silver band & Pearlescent stone ring - ℅ TheJewelleryPeople
Belt - Goodwill
Shoes - DIY (see post here)

Hellooo! I thought today I would show you the outfit photos we took on the day I went to get my nails done at WAH, I really love this playsuit so wanted to quickly get some photos in the sunshine with the beautiful London backgrounds. I don't usually go for prints but there's something so cool and summery about this palm print and I know it's meant to be huge this season, I've already seen so much of it on the highstreet. I paired the playsuit with some mixed metal rings, simple black accessories and of course, my DIY fluffy shoes which were surprisingly comfortable and definitely a lot more practical than they look!

What do you think of this outfit?

My WAH nails

If you follow me on twitter then you may already know this, but back in April I woke up to an email from the owner/founder of WAH nails (Sharmadean Reid) saying that next time I was in London she would hook me up with a complementary nail treatment. Like a crazy fangirl I ran downstairs and grabbed by WAH book, squealing with excitement when it confirmed that it was really her; she really had just followed me on instagram and she really had just offered me a complementary treatment at WAH. Ever since I discovered the company I've lusted after their nail art and on Tuesday, after all of my A-Level exams had finished, I finally got the opportunity to get some for myself!
My experience at WAH was really lovely, the girls all made me feel welcome and the atmosphere was just so chilled out and friendly. WAH girl Julie was my nail artist and we nattered away for an hour and a half whilst she brought my designs to life. In all of my fangirl excitement I'd spent a few hours looking up nail art inspiration and drawing out possible designs that I then painted and showed to Julie when I arrived, as sad as I felt turning up with a collage (I know, I cringe at my own lameness), I really didn't want to waste the opportunity by randomly picking 5 mix and match designs that then didn't go together!

Here is the finished design!
 Midi ring - Shopdixi

My nails turned out exactly as I had designed and they look even better now they've been brought to life. In case any of you are interested I thought I would break down the designs so that you can create something similar or ask for the same thing at a nail salon near you:

Little finger - Lilac polish with holographic glitter and mermaid scales painted over in white
Ring finger - Lilac, purple and white marble effect with a white half moon and pink rhinestones
Middle finger - White base with a black and lilac Kenzo eye
Index finger - Lilac base with white polka dots and mixed rhinestones
Thumb - (not in the photo) Lilac base with silver and glitter crescent moon design

Let me know what you all think of the design! I would definitely love to go back and get my nails done again, the designs usually range from £20-£50 but if they last then I definitely think it's worth it, it's a lovely way to treat yourself and you wear your nails every day... I still can't stop looking at mine!

Get in my wardrobe #20: Boho Grunge

Dress & Playsuit - Missguided
Industrial Boots - Dr Martens
Black Top & White Top - Topshop
Shorts - Topshop

I'm absolutely loving the idea of boho/grunge style this summer, especially in monochromatic colours. Dr Martens aren't usually the kind of shoes I would go for but with the distressed shorts contrasting with the strappy lace peplum cami I think they'd fit perfectly; not to mention how cute they'd look offsetting the ultra-girly, white button-down dress. The bell-sleeve white playsuit is also something I wouldn't usually go for, but I've seen so many bloggers embracing their inner hippie recently that I'm strangely drawn to it, especially with the black fedora... I needs to get me one of those too!

What's on your summer wish list?

DIY: Fluffy shoes

Shoes - link here
Marabou - link here

I think it's about time I introduced you all to my new pride and joy…my black, chunky, cleated sole fluffy shoes that have probably been my favourite DIY project so far. I'd seen similar items previewed during highstreet press days and thought they would be fairly easy to recreate for a much smaller price, so, I searched for the perfect pair of platform sandals on eBay and bought some cheap marabou to add the fluff. To attach the feathers, you simply stitch two lines of the marabou onto the toe strap, I wouldn't recommend using glue as this will only stick the edges of the feathers and won't properly secure the core of the trim. I asked my mum to help me with mine as the sewing angle is quite tricky, but as your stitching will be covered by fluff, there's no need to worry about being perfectly neat. But after that, voila! You have the perfect pair of girly meets grunge summer sandals and they look awesome with everything from dresses to shorts…I want to wear mine every day!
(I'm also tempted to make a white pair with lilac fluff for a clueless-esque vibe)

What do you think of this DIY?

Insta-update

1 - Ready for summer now after an Asos haul
2 - First ever depop purchase!
3 - I've been on a bit of a green tea hype recently so I thought I'd try this one out
4 - Buying cute stuff for uni (mugs from Homebase, plate and bowl from Wilkos)
5 - Iridescent pink nails, the photo really doesn't do them justice
6 - Shameless selfie to avoid doing anything that's actually productive
7 - Testing out a side-fringe with my new hat (I'm not too sure)

Seeing as how I took a few weeks off blogging to focus on my exams, I thought I'd fill the gap with a collection of my instagram photos from the past few weeks. I have four A-Level exams in total and three are over now, so far they've all gone quite (surprisingly) well so I'm both relieved and really happy. The one exam that could have completely jeopardised my chances of getting into my first choice university couldn't have gone any better so at the moment, life is good! As well as revision, I've mostly just been building up my summer wardrobe and adding to my slowly expanding collection of items for university, I had a really set idea on what I wanted so I'm gradually finding the pieces of my dreams - for really affordable prices too! I've also been trying to stick to my health-kick and with that comes drinking green tea once or twice a day, I've been alternating between lemon and salted caramel flavours and so far and I enjoy both (although I have to admit the salted caramel is by far my fave).

She's got flare

Easy tiger & Pastel Apparel
Other images via tumblr

I honestly didn't think I'd be up for this trend when it came back around - when I was younger I vehemently resisted the skinnies trend for as long as possible, preferring to cling on to my bootcuts and flares. Once I was converted however, I never looked back and it seems I'm not alone, as I've recently discovered the skinny jeans trend has completely taken over and it's practically impossible to buy anything else. This season, the bell-bottom flare has been brought back with a bang and so many girls have been rocking them and looking HOT in the process... Now I desperately want to revert back to 10 year old me! I've been looking for the perfect pair for a while but haven't had much luck, hopefully as the highstreet shops pick up on the trend a bit more they'll start stocking up - the flares revival 2014 has officially begun!

What do you think of this trend?

Stomp the yard

Jumper - Goodwill (see haul here)
Jeans - Topshop
Bag - Zara
Earrings - Tesco

Guess who's back, back back…back again…
Yep! After a month-long hiatus to focus on my exams I'm over the worst and excited to be back doing what I love! I thought I'd start of with something fairly simple; my boyfriend took these photos for me when we walked up to the shops last week and I might start doing more outdoorsy, everyday outfit type posts as I like the way these turned out. Let me know what y'all think!
This jumper has vast become one of my favourite items in my wardrobe - it's high neck, oversized corduroy velvet and cost me less than a fiver (all hail the Goodwill Gods), I was almost glad of the miserable weather we had last week so that I had an excuse to wear it in the summer months with my super chunky monster boots. Ahhh these shoes still make me so happy, I can stomp around to my hearts content and I'm still only 5'8"…
