Get in my wardrobe #6

Shorts and grey vest - Topshop
Ring and white top - All Saints
White dress - Asos

Oh how I wish I were rich right now...there are too many beautiful things out there that I have decided I desperately need in my life and for once, I'm now excited about Spring/Summer fashion! This white appliqué lace dress from Asos makes me want to cry with it's delicacy - reminiscent of the great Alexander McQueen, it has me dreaming of summer days and has convinced me that dresses may not be so out of my comfort zone after all. I keep going back onto Asos to look at it...is that (along with free shipping) enough to justify spending £85 on it? Hmmm I'm not sure I can resist for much longer!
The aztec and embellished shorts I am both imagining with a slouchy tee/vest and heels - the monochrome shorts would look awesome with bright shoes and accessories and I love the idea of the simple, chic outfits I could create with the sequinned shorts and neutral pieces to really allow them to stand out.
Each and every season, All Saints manage to re-invent their core range with the most beautiful prints - I am in love with this top, the soft, grey sketches of skulls and fantastical animals are so pretty and muted, that with a pair of denim cut offs, the (uh-mazing) ring above and nude shoe boots you have my idea of the perfect summer outfit. I'm just going to have to wait for it to go into the sale, which I'm almost certain it will...you'll have to keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

Not long left now to enter my giveaway!

Thank God it's Friday tomorrow!

New things!

 Jumper - Topshop
Bag - H&M
Shorts - Topshop
Turquoise rings - JWLRY
Other rings and hand chain - H&M

This may sound sad but I actually couldn't wait to show you all the new things I got last week! I found this satchel in H&M for £14.99 - they had an odd colour range though...pale yellow, white, light brown and then this baby! I don't normally wear red but I couldn't really resist this and I'm glad I bought it, it's not as difficult as I thought to fit into outfits. Speaking of which...I also got these high waisted shorts from Topshop - it's the first pair in there that have fit me properly and I love the way they've given a new lease of life to this stripey jumper I've had for a while now.

I was also wondering, do you prefer when I reply to the comments below and then visit your blogs? :) Normally I just visit all the blogs of those who comment, but if you like me to reply just let me know and I'll make sure I answer you all back!

Don't forget, if you want to check out my giveaway, click here! You've only got a week left to enter!

Oo and I hope you've all been eating your weight in pancakes - I'm making sure I take full advantage of this holiday! Pancakes + nutella + ice cream = one of the best taste experiences in the world.

Creative Blog Award

The rules:

1. Link back to the person who gave you the award.
2. Answer the seven questions below.
3. Award ten other bloggers and let them know.
4. Share seven facts about yourself.

This is a photo of me by the way...feel free to use the original image, I just wanted to change it.

The other day I was lucky enough to receive the Creative Blog Award from the ever so lovely Mollie from musicandmollie! We're friends in real life and previously shared a blog, so if you'd all go and check her's out I'd really appreciate it :) She writes beautifully and her posts are always of such a high quality.

1. Name your favourite song:  At the moment, I don't really have one (I know, what a letdown). It's kinda embarrassing but I'm going to see McFly in April so I've been busy re-listening to the sound of my childhood - Busted and Britney soon joined that playlist!

2. Name your favourite dessert: Ooo those chocolate puddings with the melty middles and ice cream! But pretty much anything with chocolate in it will do...fruit as a dessert is generally just a disappointment and should be banned...

3. What ticks you off? It depends..most of the time it takes a lot to really annoy me but when in a bad mood the slightest thing will get to me, for example when people are pedantic and purposefully awkward...grrr you just wanna punch them...(I'm not violent really, promise).

4. When I'm upset, I...
cry. Haha! Sometimes I think it's good to have a cry and just let it all out - but chocolate and a cuddle work just as well.

5. Favourite pet? Well I have 2 cats and one of them has decided he doesn't like me all that much and disappears for days on end...so I'm going to have to go for Poppie, the little fuzz monster that doesn't completely ignore me.

6. Black / White? Hmm...grey? haha...I like black jeans and shoes, but prefer white tops - black can be a bit harsh against my skin tone.

7. Biggest fear? Probably the fact that I have no idea what to do with my life and I really don't want to end up wasting it.

8. Everyday attitude? I couldn't think of a better way to say it than
the following quote...

"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back."

9. What is perfection?
Perfection is imperfection. When you love someone, whether they are family, a lover, a friend or even yourself - you begin to love their imperfections and accept them as who they are. That is how you achieve perfection in my mind - loving someone or being loved for just being you :)

10. Guilty Pleasure? When I let my intellectual side down and secretly watch reality TV shows that

follow celebrities such as Paris Hilton or the Kardashians...I know it's trash TV but it's so addictive!

This post is rather long so you can see 7 facts about me here on another blog award I received!

Born to rebel

Jumper - Topshop
Leggings - Topshop
Shoes - River Island

Arghh I love this outfit! It's unbelievably comfortable and I can't resist an oversized sweater when it's chilly outside - I love that I can throw this on and look like I've made an effort when in fact I feel like I could be wearing PJs! I never normally wear leggings, but these were relatively cheap for Topshop and I think they look a lot more expensive than they were - I toyed with the idea of getting them for a while, but being matt wet-look they're not overly shiny or tacky, they fit really well and are surprisingly soft and easy to wear. You may not be able to see too clearly but I'm wearing these with my leopard print shoe boots (shown here) - I love them so much and always get people asking about them.

I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day and spent it with the ones you love :) I had the best day with my boyfriend and spent yesterday shopping with my best friend...so I have a few new things to show you!

I would like to promote my give-away but not in the "ENTER MY GIVEAWAY NOW!" kinda way that some of us bloggers are very guilty of...so if you haven't already and you'd like to check it out - click here. You could win a shredded top, lipstick by Fearne Cotton, a Topshop ear cuff and some limited edition Barry M nail varnish :)

Get in my wardrobe #5

Shirt - River Island
Shorts - Topshop
Bag - Topshop
Inkwear - Miss Selfridge
Tights - Topshop
Converse - Converse

After reading all of your lovely comments on my Converse post, I think I've made my mind up about getting a pair - I'll be working the 'slightly under-tall' look this summer in these stonewash Converse which I can hopefully get in the Converse store in Boston where my Dad lives...I'm actually quite excited to get a pair whilst I'm in America at Easter!
Some of you might remember this shirt from a previous Get in my wardrobe post - all I showed was a photograph of a press sample, but now it's finally been released! A crisp white shirt is a supposed wardrobe staple so I'm excited to see what this one is like, I adore the collar embellishments and think it could be dressed both up and down.
The bag, tights and shorts are just more things to add to my Topshop wish list! I've got a bit of a thing for patterned tights at the moment and the colour of the bag is gorgeous - cross the body bags can be so practical as well.
Ooo and finally, I'm really intrigued by Inkwear's temporary tattoos: this feather and birds design is so pretty and although I probably wouldn't ever get a tattoo, I'd love to try this out and I think I could get some cool photographs out of it! Plus, for £2.00 you can't really go wrong!

Tragus Piercing!

Yaaay! Here it is guys - my new tragus piercing! I'm so pleased with it and surprisingly it seems to have healed really quickly! I was so nervous before I had it done because I'd been told by a few people that it was going to hurt loads - I'm not going to lie, it did hurt when the needle went in, but it wasn't that bad and it was done so quickly I didn't really have time to think about it. I felt a bit of pain when the ball was screwed on and then it was all over - immediately afterwards I couldn't feel it at all, in that respect I found it less painful than my lobes! A couple of people I know said that when they had it done, they couldn't sleep on it for a few days - I avoided resting on it the first night but after that it was fine. A week on and I never feel it, I've been cleaning it twice a day and I can twist it and everything without pain - really not as bad as I expected!
I got to the piercing shop early as well so they gave me a free hoop for waiting: I can't wait to see how that looks in 6-8 weeks time. I thoroughly recommend Kazbah for piercings if you live anywhere near Leicester, they're so lovely there and I wouldn't get my ears done anywhere else :)

Oo and this is entirely unrelated, but can anyone suggest an alternative to Picnik? It's closing down in April and I use it to get my photos together like the 2nd and 3rd ones here - if you could suggest anything, that'd be really helpful :)

Converse..?

Hmm...I've been toying with this idea for a while now so I thought I'd put it to you guys, I've loved reading your comments on my travel and ear piercing posts so it'd be lovely to hear your opinions on this :)
I think Converse look awesome on other people, I'm so inspired by the photo above, her entire outfit is a dream - the Converse add an effortlessly cool feel to outfits and they'd be great in the summer time with shorts and plain tees when I go to America. The only trouble is, I'm 5'2" and always wear heels - they make me a more 'normal' height and without them I feel like a bit of a midget and I feel like my legs look short. Plus, at college when you suddenly shrink three or four inches, people reeeaaally notice and my day is filled with comments along the lines of "Awwww! You're so small!!!" and "Oh my god, I never realised you were such a midget!"...it doesn't help that my boyfriend is 6'2" either...haha!

What do you think of Converse? Do you think I could pull it off?
Be honest!
